FULL-TIME GARDENER / HOUSEPERSON – PRIVATE ESTATE – HUNTINGDON, CAMBRIDGESHIRE

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Gardener/Houseperson to join a private country estate in Cambridgeshire. You’ll be working closely with the Head Gardener and supporting the wider estate team with a variety of tasks both outdoors and in the home.

On-site accommodation is available, free of charge, for the right candidate if required.

Couples are welcome to apply, although please note that we’re unable to offer a permanent role for the partner at this time.

What the role involves:

• Mowing and hedge cutting using larger machinery (ride-on mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, etc.)
• Spraying duties – PA1 and PA6 certification is a definite advantage
• General gardening: weeding, pruning, digging, mulching, and keeping the grounds tidy
• Basic household maintenance and small repairs
• Helping indoors when needed – lighting fires, cleaning, lending a hand where it’s needed
• Driving duties, running errands, and keeping the estate vehicles clean and roadworthy
• Assisting with events and family gatherings – whether in the kitchen or dining room, an extra pair of hands is always appreciated

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Are organised, hands-on and trustworthy
• Have previous gardening or estate maintenance experience
• Are confident using larger garden machinery (e.g. ride-on mower, ATV, Gator)
• Have a bit of a practical side – small DIY tasks don’t faze you
• Can work well both independently and as part of a team
• Have a friendly, approachable manner and good communication skills
• Hold a valid UK driving licence
• Have either pre-settled or settled status in the UK
